Smile Makeover

While it is true that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, we all agree that some smiles look lovelier than others! If you have ever felt your smile could have been better, then we would like to invite you to explore Genix’s bespoke smile makeovers. Appearance-related aesthetic dentistry typically involves a combination of cosmetic dental treatments like composite bonding, dental veneers and facial aesthetics, bringing in the transformation you are seeking in a well-planned and systematic manner.

Genix Healthcare -
  • It may be possible to segment your treatment if you don’t wish to go all the way in one go. Your Genix Smile Expert will let you know if this is feasible (it may not be in some cases).
  • Some treatment results are not very easily reversible, so make sure you take your time with the ‘test drive’ before you finalise the treatment plan.

Don’t forget to be on a lookout for any VIP Days at your Genix Practice to explore the possibilities with regards to your smile transformation at no cost to you. Ask the Reception! Also remember: with Genix’s convenient finance options, you may be able to start your treatment earlier than you thought would be possible for you. Do ask your Genix Treatment Coordinator for the details.

  • Smile makeovers include a lot of treatments that are dependent on maintenance of good oral hygiene at home for long-term success. Usually, this just means thorough and attentive toothbrushing twice daily and use of appropriate interdental cleaning aids.
  • At times, you may need to watch your diet for a few days after treatment (e.g. after teeth whitening) to ensure you are not consuming a large number of highly coloured substances until the tooth shade becomes stable.

Depending on how many changes we need to make to get to the results you want with your smile, the length of treatment varies. This means that there is no set number of appointments within which everyone’s smile makeover can be completed. At Genix, we make an attempt to deliver the perfect results in the shortest possible time, but the unwavering focus is on creating exceptional treatment outcomes that are long-lasting.

The sequence of appointments begins with an in-depth consultation that is aimed at understanding your goals with your smile design. This allows your Genix Aesthetic Dentist to draw up a treatment plan that suits your requirements the best. A digital or in-mouth ‘mock-up’ test drive is often the next step to present to you the end-result before making any permanent changes to your teeth. Once you like what you are presented with, the definitive treatment steps start:

Appointment 1 and 2
A heart-to-heart discussion on what you have in mind, a detailed exam to ensure dental health, x-rays if necessary, and high-quality dental photography along with jaw models

Treatment plan preparation

Treatment plan presentation, along with a digital/in-mouth test drive where possible

Appointment 3 onwards
Definitive treatment steps that can include teeth whitening, dental veneers, composite bonding, gum recontouring, orthodontic treatment with aligners and facial aesthetics

A brand-new sparkling smile that lights up every room!

All patients are encouraged to enrol in a systematic and timely recall schedule to maintain the results obtained.

Like most dental treatments, there is never a one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to smile makeovers. From just a couple of steps to a relatively more involved multi-step plan, smile makeover treatment plans are carefully tailored for each individual patient. We know how important and valuable your smile is, and understand that the stakes are very high, which is why intense consideration is given to even the smallest aspect of each step planned.

After an initial conversation and check-up to understand your desired results, you will be presented with the possibilities regarding the best way to reach the outcome you have in mind.

A large majority of smile makeovers will involve teeth whitening and dental veneers. Teeth whitening involves the use of a gentle bleach to lighten the shade of your teeth, while dental veneers are thin ceramic wafers that are permanently bonded to your teeth to enhance the shape and contour of your teeth.

Other procedures that may be a part of the treatment process include: composite bonding which refers to skilled, artful sculpting of tooth-coloured restorative material to create a tooth shape that complements your aesthetic; gum recontouring which correct inadequate or excessive gum display with delicate plastic procedures; orthodontic treatment with aligners and braces if necessary to straighten teeth; and even facial aesthetics which can include botulinum toxin injections and hyaluronic acid dermal filler injections to strategically iron out those wrinkles and creases that rob you of your youthfulness.

While serving as the umbrella term for a number of different dental procedures, Smile makeovers offer an organised path to comprehensive smile transformations. It is this thorough, step-by-step nature of the treatment planning and delivery that distinguishes full smile makeovers from one-off patch-ups that are performed on a single-treatment-at-a-time basis.

The advantages of choosing to get a smile makeover are:

  • Zero-compromise results with comprehensive custom enhancements to your smile
  • Multi-disciplinary approach that merges a variety of dental procedures in a single all-encompassing treatment plan
  • Smile boosts that also consider and improve the cosmetics of your face

Do you like your smile when you see it in a mirror? While the majority of us are not unhappy about the appearance of our teeth, there is always some aspect of it that we wish were a bit better. A smile is a large part of our personality, and often the very first thing others notice about us. At Genix, we know first-hand the difference that a smile makeover can make, and would let nothing stand in the way of you and your confidence!

Smile makeovers are the best way to restore tastefully age-appropriate youthfulness to your smile, and are indicated for the following purposes:

  • Correcting chipped, cracked, broken or discoloured teeth, restorations and crowns
  • Correcting teeth with spaces
  • Straightening crooked and misaligned teeth
  • Aligning teeth that overlap
  • Improving inadequate display of teeth when smiling
  • Adjusting excessive display of gums when smiling
