Clear Aligners

Do you love a perfectly aligned set of teeth, but don’t fancy wearing braces to get them straightened? Aligners offer a nearly-invisible method to correct your teeth. Aligners are a set of removable trays made of clear plastic that gently nudge your teeth to a position that best suits you. This means instead of traditional fixed braces, you can achieve the smile of your dreams and look good while you are under treatment too!

Genix Healthcare -

Modern aligner treatments offered at Genix allow the correction of a number of alignment issues that may be present with your teeth. Your Genix Aligner Expert will plan your treatment with various goals in mind to ensure long-term success and stability—this always includes straightening of the teeth, but will also incorporates improvements in bite to the best possible extent:

  • Correcting crowding of teeth
  • Adjusting and closing spaces between gappy teeth
  • Correcting horizontal overlap—called ‘overjet’—of front teeth
  • Improving vertical overlap—called ‘overbite’—of front teeth to relieve deep bite
  • Correcting underbite—lower front teeth sticking out beyond upper front teeth
  • Adjusting crossbite—teeth being too close to the cheek or tongue
  • Closing open bite—front teeth not closing on each other when the jaws are closed
  • Aligning crooked teeth

Aligners can help you overcome a lot of barriers you may feel when you consider getting your teeth straightened thanks to the following advantages:

  • No metal in your mouth: no bracket, no wires
  • Clear, transparent trays that make your orthodontic treatment as discreet as possible since they are nearly invisible to others
  • Hygienic and easy to maintain thanks to their removable nature
  • Easy to brush and floss around your teeth since there are no wires in the way
  • No food lodgement around your teeth since there are no brackets
  • Comfortably smooth contours
  • Exclusively tailored to your teeth delivering a bespoke experience
  • Fewer repairs needed since there are not many components that can get loose
  • Allow for correction of a number of dental alignment issues

Aligners are produced in labs using advanced technology. It starts with a model of teeth with poor alignment. From this model, a computer-based software simulation prepares a set of models with teeth that are gradually moved to new, desired positions.

Using these models, a sequence of aligners—transparent plastic trays—are manufactured. These trays are then worn by the patient, changing to the next tray every one to two weeks. With the light pressure that these trays apply, the teeth are slowly shifted to the final position chosen and agreed upon between the patient and the dentist before the start of the treatment.

When it comes to aligners, a plethora of alternatives are available in the market. At Genix, however, we place the highest value on the most important determinant of treatment success: your journey towards the smile you want with your Genix Aligner Expert. It is only through thorough study of what your treatment goals are—along with your dental parameters—can a customised treatment plan be prepared that delivers exactly what you are looking for. This ensures that you are never left figuring things out on your own—we got your back, all through till the end of treatment.

The process of getting aligners at Genix involves the following easy steps:

Appointment 1
Detailed check-up

Understanding your objectives and answering your queries

Making a model of your teeth with a scan or an impression

Preparation of the step-by-step treatment plan by your Genix Aligner Expert in collaboration with the aligner laboratory

Finalise the treatment plan

Appointment 3 and further

The treatment duration varies from individual to individual, but may take anywhere from six months two years. It helps to remember that the success of your aligners depends on how regular you are with wearing them, so please make sure you wear them as instructed!

  • Aligners can easily be cleaned using cold water with a soft toothbrush and liquid soap. Cleaning tablets purpose-designed for this purpose can also be used.
  • It is very important to brush your teeth after each meal before reinserting the aligners.
  • Aligners can correct many alignment issues, but not all. Sometimes, the alignment issues may be too severe to correct without traditional fixed braces.
  • Usually, some minor discomfort is all you need to manage when you start wearing any new retainer.
  • It may take three to five days to get comfortable with the aligner while talking.
  • On occasion, it may be necessary to attach small tooth-coloured buttons made up of filling materials. These are quite inconspicuous and just like your aligners, are not easily perceptible. Very rarely, you may need elastics, and these can be more visible.
  • The dentist may recommend some space-gaining methods like minimal tooth reduction or strategic tooth removal to move crooked teeth in correct positions. Most cases, however, do not require these steps. This will be discussed in detail before the start of the treatment.

Susan's Story
My name is Susan, I'm 48 year old and I've had the bridge and aligner treatment. I had a massive gap in the middle, 2 teeth there and two teeth at the side were missing. I just couldn't smile. It was just embarrassing really to even talk because you could see the big gaps. I've seen it advertised on on the Internet and it just looked really good. So had the aligners, to push the teeth together and bridge to put the two missing teeth in. But yeah, this is a miracle. Fantastic. Really, really good turn out turn. It's going to give us a lot more confidence. The gaps have gone just about gone and much happier just to go for it. They do. They can do like a finance over a year and you'll feel a lot happier.
